Road flight in UP to repay a buffalo loan

LUCK NOW: In a seemingly bizarre incident, four milkmen have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh for a highway robbery.

They claimed they planned the heist because they needed to repay a loan taken out to purchase buffaloes.

The four were spotted on CCTV footage from the area and arrested.

According to ACP, Bazarkhala, Anil Kumar Yadav, the four namely Nijaj from Kakori, Abrar Ahmad, Aneesh Ali and Muin Ali, all from the Para police station area, were desperate to repay a Rs 8.5 lakh loan that they they had taken to buy seven buffaloes.

All are in their early twenties.

The young milk vendors planned a highway robbery as a quick fix to their problem.

Aneesh was tasked with tracking down a seemingly wealthy man and looting his car and other belongings.

“Aneesh informed them that a man in a car had stopped at an area beer shop. Other miscreants arrived at the scene on motorbikes. They waited for the man to sit inside As the victim was intoxicated, all “The disbelievers surrounded him as soon as he sat inside the car. They overpowered him and one of them drove the car towards the village of Bhalia,” the ACP said.

When they reached a secluded place, they looted the gold ornaments and Rs 8,000 in cash from the victim before throwing him into the thickets. They continued to drive but the car developed a snag in the clutch disc as a result of which they had to park the vehicle at the village headman of Shivri village, police said.

“Nijaj, the mastermind of the crime, gave Anees and Muin Rs 4,000 each while keeping the gold ornaments with him. They threw the mobile phone and documents from the car into a canal on the way, the officer added.
