The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of the crime branch has issued a notice warning people not to provide access to online lending apps on Google Play Store to avoid falling prey to such online fraud.
“In order to contain these types of crimes and to raise public awareness, people are hereby advised and requested not to take loans from unregistered/illegal lending apps available on the internet and playstore as loan apps. ready on the pretext of advancing. lend, access and hack all customer phone information, which could then be used by the company to perpetrate another financial crime,” the EOW warned in a statement on Tuesday.
These loan apps also harass the customer by not only charging a high interest rate, but in case of non-repayment, harass him by sending obscene and indecent depictions of the customer’s photos to his contact list, he said. he declares.
Thus, in case of non-repayment of the loan, the consequences must be borne not only by the client but also by his family members and friends/contacts. Many times the money is also credited right after downloading the APP without actually asking and asking for the money.
In some states, many people have committed suicide by being blackmailed and humiliated by the debt collectors of these illegal loan APPs. Not only the borrowers but also their family members are also harassed. All are advised to avoid downloading such illegal loan apps.
Even if someone has already downloaded/borrowed, they should not tolerate harassment but rather report the matter to the police. And under no circumstances should they take extreme measures like committing suicide, he advised.
