Motherwell keeper goes on loan to Ligue 1
Motherwell goalkeeper PJ Morrison is on the move again after agreeing a loan move to League One Alloa Athletic.
Former Hamilton Accies boss Brian Rice signed the 24-year-old to his Wasps side, becoming his first signing since taking charge of Indodrill last week.
Morrison spent time on loan in the Championship with Ayr United last season, having also had a spell at Falkirk earlier in the season.
Fir Park’s other loan spells in recent years also include time at Falkirk and Albion Rovers.
The shot-stopper, who is a product of Motherwell youth academy, is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Steelmen and his contract at Fir Park expires in May.
He has, understandably, struggled to secure first-team opportunities in the form of first-choice goalkeeper Liam Kelly, while compatriot Scott Fox signed a new contract with the club last month.
Yesterday was the deadline for Domestic loan signings and Morrison is linking up with former Motherwell teammate in Ross Maciver, who also joined the club on loan from Partick Thistle.
A statement from Motherwell read: “PJ Morrison has joined Alloa Athletic on loan for the remainder of the season.
“The goalkeeper is heading to Ligue 1 as he continues his development.
“We wish PJ all the best for the rest of the campaign.”
Morrison’s first involvement with the Wasps could come on Saturday when they host the title-seeking Airdrieonians.
