Alexandria needs help filling transit gaps during Yellow Line closure
The City of Alexandria is requesting public funding to support transit service while parts of the Yellow Line Metro are closed this fall. Alexandria’s DASH bus network does not have enough bus drivers to increase bus service to meet additional travel demand alone, so the mitigation plan includes water taxi access , Capital Bikeshare, HOV lane changes and Virginia Railway Express. DC brings back mortgage tax credits for some homebuyers
DC is relaunching the Mortgage Credit Certificate Program, which allows homebuyers with an income of less than $154,800 and a loan of less than $647,200 to claim a federal tax credit on their mortgage interest. It can be combined with other programs such as DC Open Doors and the Home Buyer’s Assistance Program. The goal is to make home ownership more accessible. (UrbanTurf)
